Portraits of pets

Portraits of pets can be a challenge and an adventure. I got to know this one intimately and I think I have captured her personality. She is adorable except when she bites. So she is a cat with a character and don't be too kind as after petting her you might get some scratches instead of thank you.
Otherwise she is absolutely cute.

In love

I am in love with foxes. More so than other animals. In art it shows through the anthropomorphic figures I have been drawing on and off. Here is a nice sample of them.

Speeding up

I have seen many do the time lapse and always wondered what does the process of creation looks like. Is it magic?
Here I have recorded it to see for myself. I love how fast it is and that I can see the progress growing and changing the paper, transforming it into a drawing. The magic captured in less than ten seconds. I am definitely making more of these.

This week I have played with architectural sketches. I am an organic-line-person and drawing straight lines is a challenge for me. I am trying to find the balance for the architectural sketches and watercolors  I have started to explore and I would like to capture this beauty of the lines and colors

Interpretations

Sometimes we cannot explain why we find something attractive. It can be out last experiences or a color scheme might seem really pleasant. As an artist I often don't have the explanation in words and suggest to the viewer to enjoy their own interpretation.

Travel

I was asked recently and if my art is influenced by my travel. My reflection on it ended with the answer: yes, but not in direct way.

Going through exhibits I find little gems that capture my attention. These inspire me. I might look at them, copy, redo or just improvise on the theme of one.

I think it is a time for a new post.
There are lots of new sketches that I would like to share with you. I will keep on posting slowly :)

Sunflowers turn my head as I anthropomorphise them in my head. Here is a version of a sunflower character.

This is from the balloon head series. You will see more of these. Last year I have made a balloon head for my Halloween costume too :)

Creating forms with lines. This is in development as I fell I can push it more.
